Singer-Songwriter Seth Glier to embark on “The 12 Days of Touring” & teams up with The Coats for Kids Foundation for local coat drives

Fresh off the heels of his successful debut album “The Trouble With People” (MPress Records), singer-songwriter Seth Glier is preparing to embark on “The 12 Days of Touring” starting in Boston, MA on Dec 30th and carrying on throughout the northeast for 12 consecutive shows; including dates at The Iron Horse Music Hall, The Rams Head Tavern, The Birchmere, & The Ark.

In the spirit of the holiday season, Glier has teamed up with the Coats for Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing new and “gently used” winter coats to every child in need. “The 12 Days of Touring” will also host as a coat drive for the Coats for Kids Foundation before every show. A representative from Coats for Kids will be set up at each show to collect coats, hats, gloves, scarves & donations and will bring all the collections to a local school system in need.

Not only will Seth be performing at venues along the east coast for this special tour, but he has also dedicated two dates Jan 3rd & Jan 9th to giving back to the community by performing for patients at the Philadelphia VA Hospital and Cleveland Children’s Hospital. Glier reveals, “I have an incredibly compassionate community of fans who are so willing to give back. They have inspired me, so getting involved with the hospitals just seemed like the most natural next step to pull this all together.” Seth will also be rewarding his fans for contributing with a special gift each day of the tour! Stay tuned by becoming a fan of his Facebook www.facebook.com/sethglier or following him on Twitter www.twitter.com/sethglier for all the details.

As a green (environmentally conscious) artist, Glier continues to travel in his hybrid vehicle, promotes fan carpooling, & sells organic merchandise in support of his debut album “The Trouble With People,” released November 3rd on MPress Records. Get your copy here or visit www.sethglier.com/store

About Seth Glier:

Singer-songwriter Glier was raised on the music of Joni Mitchell, Martin Sexton, and Jeff Buckley, but he considers his brother to be his greatest influence. “My brother is autistic and non-verbal. Boston-based Glier is already a seasoned troubadour, having shared stages with John Mayer, Martin Sexton, Erin McKeown and James Taylor. Other notable supporters of Glier's music include acclaimed singer-songwriters Ellis Paul and Livingston Taylor. Glier’s accomplishments surpass his age -- he has performed hundreds of shows, including a set for more than 25,000 people on the National Mall in Washington D.C.  Livingston Taylor says “Listening to Seth’s music gives me hope for what’s to come. The next generation is alive and well.”

More about Seth Glier:

Glier’s powerful, silky voice catches you off guard, like the first time you heard Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall sing ‘Holding Back The Years’. His diverse album, features 12 original songs, a Cat Stevens-esque hushed storytelling, memorable melodies and a prodigious vocal range throughout. THE ALBUM PROJECT recently buzzed “I really loved the song “Gotta Get Away” as soon as I heard it.”

Singer-songwriter Glier was raised on the music of Joni Mitchell, Martin Sexton, and Jeff Buckley, but he considers his brother to be his greatest influence. “My brother is autistic and non-verbal. I learned to communicate with words better once I realized how to communicate to someone without them.”

Perhaps it’s that unique sensitivity that gives Glier’s songwriting such resonance. His folk/pop album weaves understated tales of real people in quiet pain. It’s a sophisticated collection that shows surprising maturity and self-reflection. Maybe the term ‘old soul’ has meaning after all…

Boston-based Glier is already a seasoned troubadour, having shared stages with John Mayer, Martin Sexton, Erin McKeown and Cheryl Wheeler. Other notable supporters of Glier's music include acclaimed singer-songwriters Ellis Paul and Livingston Taylor, as well as legendary producer Russ Titelman (Steve Winwood, Cyndi Lauper, Eric Clapton). Glier’s accomplishments surpass his age -- he has performed hundreds of shows, including a set for more than 25,000 people on the National Mall in Washington D.C. Livingston Taylor says, “Listening to Seth’s music gives me hope for what’s to come. The next generation is alive and well.”

Glier released several DIY albums before catching the attention of MPress founder Rachael Sage last fall. Upon signing Glier, Sage brought in Grammy® Winner Kevin Killen (U2, Tori Amos, Elvis Costello), to re-mix Glier’s original tracks, which he’d famously recorded in his basement over a three-month stretch. Highlights of the album include the soaring ‘Gotta Get Away’, the Beatles-influenced instrumentation on ‘Naia’, Glier’s commanding title track, and the insightful ‘Someone Else To Crown’.

Seth will be touring nationally throughout 2009-2010 in support of "The Trouble With People"; please visit www.sethglier.com/tour for a complete schedule. For more information about Seth Glier or to receive a review copy of the album, please contact Seth Cohen PR: www.sethcohenpr.com.

20-Year-Old Seth Glier Has a Voice for the Ages on New Album "The Trouble With People"

MPress Records Sets Digital Release for October 6th & Retail Releast for November 3rd; Major Tour is Set

20-year old Seth Glier’s voice catches you off guard, like the first time you heard Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall sing ‘Holding Back The Years’. Glier backs up this ‘aha’ moment with an album’s worth of diverse material – showcasing his rich falsetto, his Cat Stevens-esque hushed storytelling, and a prodigious vocal range in between.

On November 3rd, MPress Records will release Glier’s "The Trouble With People", featuring 12 original songs by the multi-instrumentalist/pianist. The brick-and-mortar release will be preceded by an October 6th digital-only version, via iTunes. This will be Glier’s label debut, following a series of DIY albums.

Much like Shawn Colvin’s "A Few Small Repairs", Glier’s folk/pop album weaves understated tales of real people in quiet pain.

Glier released several DIY albums before catching the attention of MPress founder Rachael Sage last fall. Upon signing Glier, Sage brought in Grammy® Winner Kevin Killen (U2, Marc Cohn, Elvis Costello), to re-mix Glier’s original tracks, which he’d ambitiously recorded in his basement over a three-month stretch. Highlights of the album include the soaring ‘Gotta Get Away’, the Beatles-influenced instrumentation on ‘Naia’, Glier’s commanding title track, and the insightful ‘Someone Else To Crown’.

Perhaps CD Baby said it best, as Seth Glier’s DIY years unfolded: "When it comes down to Seth’s music, either you love it or you've never heard it before.”
